TIRUVANNAMALAI: The world famous hill shrine Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswara Swamy Temple in Tamil Nadu is getting ready for the lighting of lamps festival ‘Karthigai Deepam’ to be held on December 10th 2019 at 6 p.m atop the 2,668-feet high sacred hill.
Karthigai Deepam celebrations at Thiruvannamalai will be held from December 1st to 10th and lakhs of devotees from all over India and abroad will congregate here to watch the ‘Karthigai Deepam’.

Mr.M.Makesh, whose family has been involved in conducting many ‘abhishekams’ and other rituals at Thiruvannamalai temple told ‘Lotus Times‘ news website on November 1st 2019 that Sri Arunachaleshwarar Temple is known for inculcating many selfless qualities among devotees because it is called as a ‘Mukthi Sthala’.
“This God Arunachaleswarar removes all ego in an individual, he gives spiritual wisdom and a good behavior. He gives victory to everyone and ‘Karthigai Deepam’ is a very auspicious occasion to visit Thiruvannamalai Temple for prosperity,” Mr.Makesh said over phone.
‘GIRIVALAM’ IS VERY GOOD:
Mr.Makesh’s family – his father Shri.Masilamani and grandfather Arumuga Chettiar, have been doing lot of devotional initiatives at Thiruvannamalai Temple for various festivals and important days. Devotees take a walk that takes them around the scared hill as ‘Girivalam’.
“This was the place from where seers and sages enlightened us …..This Thiruvannamalai is like a magnet……Once you come here, it gives spiritual bliss…..December 10th evening is an important day at Thiruvannamalai and it gives the best vibration for success of devotees,” Mr.Makesh has explained.
More than 10 lakh people are expected to visit Thiruvannamalai Temple to witness ‘Karthigai Deepam’ and take part in the auspicious lighting of lamps festival.
