BJP youth leader impresses @ Strong Cities 2030 J’burg meet

CHENNAI: Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s visionary projects ‘Jalsakthi’ river- linking projects and his nationwide affordable housing initiative being implemented in Indian cities, have caught global attention at the prestigious ‘Strong Cities 2030’ Conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The annual conclave took place from October 13th to 15th and BJP Youth Wing State president Mr.Vinoj P Selvam from Tamil Nadu was one among those who participated and spoke about the Modi government’s projects for urban development and how inequality is being eradicated through balanced projects and visionary approach of the Central government led by PM Modi.

“I proudly spoke about our PM’s ‘Jalsakthi’ which is aimed for linking of rivers and water availability everywhere. Similarly, the visionary approach of our PMO in ensuring affordable housing was also explained to the global delegates and they were awed,” said Mr.Vinoj P Selvam, in a message to ‘Lotus Times’ news website today.   
The ‘Strong Cities 2030 Conference-2019’ was jointly hosted by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the City of Johannesburg. It had deliberated on the theme ‘Inequality’ by bringing together young political leaders from various countries to understand / explore innovative approaches on how to overcome inequality in terms of spatial planning, modes of transport, economic opportunities for local people and city governance.

The BJP youth wing leader from Tamil Nadu met several young politicians and urban development experts who were invited for the ‘Strong Cities 2030’ Johannesburg conference.  Participants came from cities in Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America.
One of the main objectives of this conference is to share expertise and know-how in urban development, and thereby implement good ideas in their respective countries taking these ideas forward.  
“I met many leaders including Leader of Opposition Berlin Germany, Council Chairman Graz from Austria and Masaba, Executive Mayor of Johannesburg,” said Mr.Vinoj P Selvam.
As our India’s projects garnered global attention and PM Modi’s schemes to eradicate inequality received wider applause, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing leader seems to have made an impressive show at the Johannesburg Conference 2019.
