Thanjavur temple gets ready for Kumbabishekam Feb 2020

MADURAI: The kumbhabishekam of Thanjavur Big Temple Brihadeeswarar temple in Tamil Nadu will be held in February 2020.

This ancient monument which is under the control and maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is over 1,000 years old and built during the Chola period.

Civil works and chemical cleaning of the high rise gopurams and structures are currently underway in full swing. ASI sources said on Friday that experienced workforce is working in shifts to complete the works soon.

The Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur is a National monument that draws tourists from all over India and abroad all round the year. The magnificent gopurams and sculptures besides the huge ‘Nandi’ are cynosure of all eyes.
