CHENNAI: The famous Murugan Temple in Tiruchendur is suffering a huge revenue loss due to darshan ticket fraud operating within the temple premises.

A group of temple staff and priests are collecting money from the visiting devotees for Rs.250/- darshan entry without giving them the official of Rs.250/- special darshan ticket.

This nexus between the temple employees and temple priests is resulting in lakhs of rupees revenue loss to the Tiruchendur Subramaniaswamy Temple which is a second  Arupada Veedu dedicated to Lord Murugan.

A group of people from Chennai who went to the temple on 25th September 2019 had given details of how money is being collected from the devotees without giving darshan tickets.

VERY GOOD DARSHAN:

Upon collecting Rs.250/- from each person, the entry is permitted into the temple ‘ with right royal welcome ‘ by the priests.

” while the actual Rs.250/- ticket holders stood several metres away in queue, our group was taken straight into the sanctum sanctorum by the priests. We had very good darshan for several minutes without any difficulty,” a person who gave Rs.250/- to the looting group has said after returning from Tiruchendur on Friday.

These devotees from Chennai said that the looting gang is forming 10 persons into one batch collecting totally Rs.2,500. They will not be issued entry tickets but assured of very good darshan.

Like this, everyday the Tiruchendur  Temple is losing ticket revenue and it is time the HR & CE Department swings into actions and catch the guilty.
