CHENNAI: Golden voice is God’s gift. For singers, this gift is all the more important. Senior singer M.RAMU has it in abundance and this made him a sought after singer thanks to his impressive and appealing stage performances in music shows where he sings with his beautiful voice Telugu, Tamil, Hindi songs etc Adding to this, devotional songs are his passion. Till now, humble Ramu had done 2,000 music programs entertaining and enthralling the audiences in India and abroad.

“My music life began in a big way with a breakthrough in legendary singer SPB sir’s ‘Paadutha Theeyaga’ show on ETV channel in 1996. I participated in that show and later on I moved from my native Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh to Madras ty pursue mu passion to sing and become a professional singer,” says Mr.Maharajapuram Ramu, while talking to the ‘Lotus Times’ news website at his home in Saligramam in Chennai on September 26th 2019 Thursday.
While over the years Ramu came to be known as ‘SPB specialist’ due to his very close resemblance to S.P.Balasubramaniam’s voice, he also showed his versatile voice talent by singing many popular songs with other greats like P.Suseela, Mano, Yesudoss, S.Janaki and Chitra.
“God gave me the chance to sing 5,000 devotional songs at many places. I sung private devotional songs too. My humble thanks and gratitude to all those who supported, encouraged and motivated me in my 25 years singing career so far,” Ramu says.
AWARD AND HONOURS:
This Chennai-based top singer had great experiences in his music life. He was a recipient of the prestigious ‘Nandi Award’ give by the Andhra Pradesh government. He got two ‘Nandi’ awards. His unforgettable moment was when he received a recognition award from the hands of Vice-President Mr.M.Venkaiah Naidu at a function organized by All India Telugu Federation.
For the upcoming and budding singers, Ramu has a golden advise. “There is plenty of talent in today’s young singers. They must be groomed and nurtured. My suggestion to them is to passionately Save Melody through their practice and their voice.
MY NEXT PLAN:
A master of melody, beat, high pitch and devotional songs, this Chennai-based Telugu and Tamil senior singer who enjoys his every stage show and still continue to do regular practice, acknowledges the support of his entire family and friends all these years.
“I am also now focused on my next plan. That is to have an exclusive Youtube channel and reach out to a larger segment of music lovers. A video album and own recordings are being planned,” he says.
