MADURAI: At a time when political parties shy away from taking bold decisions, the BJP Madurai Rural district unit took a bold step to be on the side of the people, poor families, their livelihood and to EXPOSE THE PERSONS BEHIND who created economic havoc for the granite quarries in Madurai district for last six years since 2012.
YES AND TRUE – On the issue of complete closure of granite quarries, the BJP is raising right queries, on which the Tamil Nadu State Government, Madurai district administration, IAS Mr.U.Sagayam’s intentions and those opposing the granite quarrying must answer.

Because, it is question of lakhs of families’ survival and their SLEEPLESS NIGHTS after the closing down of granite quarries units in Madurai district.
The BJP got rousing reception in the granite bastions of Madurai district during its two-day “Thaamarai Yatra” on December 16th and 17th 2018 at Idaiyapatti, Thiruvadhavur, Keelaiyur, Keelavalavu, Melur, Karuppayoorani, Varichur, Karuppukaal, PudhuThaamaraipatti and Othakadai. Madurai Rural BJP organized massive shows in various hamlets, villages and towns.
BJP MADURAI RURAL SUCCESSFUL:
The good participation of local people in this massive campaign is an indication that the BJP was successful in its objective to build a public movement to restore the GLORY OF MADURAI GRANITE and to get the granite quarries opened by the Tamil Nadu government.
BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan and Madurai Rural district BJP president Mr.Maha.Suseendhran, along with a large number of party functionaries spent two days in the campaign’s first phase.
Soon, a memorandum demanding the State Government to open the granite quarries will be submitted to the Madurai district collector and later to the Chief Minister, said Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan on December 17th 2018 (Monday) while addressing the villagers at various places.
