(VIDEO ) SLOGANS AND SUPPORT:

The objective of BJP Madurai Rural unit’s campaign on December 16th and 17th 2018 is to take steps for restoring the livelihood of thousands of poor families in Melur / Madurai East areas who lost their income source in 2012 when the decision to close down granite quarries was taken and also because of IAS officer Mr.U.Sagayam giving a report citing violations and encroachments by granite quarries in Madurai district.

WHY CLOSE ALL THE QUARRIES?

BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan had raised a few valid questions by asking why should the State Government ban all the granite quarries in Madurai district when only some of them have reportedly committed violations. Also why close the Government’s quarry TAMIN?

He led the SAVE GRANITE QUARRY WORKERS campaign from Idaiyapatti (at Vellimalai Murugan temple) on December 16th 2018 where a huge number of party cadres, locals, quarry workers and granite quarry workers welfare association representatives turned up to join the ‘yatra’ that covered Idaiyapatti, Thiruvadhavur, Melur, Keelavalavu etc.

GOOD WORK BY BJP MADURAI RURAL:

Lot of planning and execution went into this BJP’s people-focused save livelihood campaign in Melur taluk areas on first day December 16th 2018 as the party’s Madurai Rural unit office-bearers led by district president Mr.Maha.Suseendhran, Mr.G.Sivalingam (gen secy – org), Mr.G.Moovendhan (gen secy), Mr.K.S.Muthu Ram, Mr.Madhava Kannan (dist vp), R.Sasikumar (vp), Mr.Murali Ramasamy and Mr.Sankara Pandi, along with others could make the local villagers in Melur granite belt convinced that the BJP IS RAISING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS FOR THEIR CAUSE IN A RIGHT WAY.
