MADURAI: The much awaited Supreme Court’s decision on October 23rd 2018 (Tuesday) not to impose a blanket ban on the sale of fireworks / festival crackers has been welcomed and celebrated by the BJP cadres in Madurai district by hailing the SC judgement as saving of India’s cracker capital Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu.
BJP leaders and party functionaries of Madurai Urban and Madurai Rural districts expressed their joy immediately after the SC announced its decision by a Bench comprising Judges Justice A.K.Sikri and Justice Ashok Bhushan.

At the party office in Madurai’s Bibikulam area, sweets were distributed welcoming the SC order on October 23rd 2018 morning.
Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan and Madurai Rural district BJP president Mr.Maha.Suseendhran along with a large number of party office-bearers from various wings and cells including K.K.Srinivasan, Balamurugan, Sankara Pandi, T.S.K.Gnaneswaran, P.Sivaji (SC Morcha social media State in-charge) and others were present in the party office of BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan who explained about the background, significance and positive impact of Supreme Court verdict on sale of Diwali crackers for lakhs of workers dependent on fireworks industry for their livelihood.
