MADURAI: The much awaited ‘ModiCare’ AYUSHMAN BHARAT medical insurance scheme for poor people to the tune of Rs.5 lakhs is a healthcare revolution as it eliminates poverty by eliminating borrowings for getting health treatment in private hospitals.
On September 23 rd 2018 Sunday, Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi launched this nationwide scheme of the NDA Govenrment at Ranchi from where he said that Ayushman Bharat health insurance is a revolutionary step in India healthcare system since it benefits 10 crore families and 50 crore people through health insurance cover in many States including Tamil Nadu which had come forward to implement Ayushman Bharat scheme for poor people.

Retired Director of Public Health of Government of Tamil Nadu Dr.S.Elango who had joined the BJP recently has said on Sunday that the two major announcements in healthcare – AIIMS for Madurai and Ayushman Bharat medical insurance – will be a boon for the people of Tamil Nadu who are looking for a helping hand in health matters.

“AIIMS in Madurai is a good step for equality and equity in healthcare for the poor people of southern districts in
Tamil Nadu…..I will say that AIIMS is a life-saving announcement of our PM Modi while Ayushman Bharat is a socio-economic game-changer,” Dr.S.Elango has said on September 23rd 2018.
He said that his next activity will be to work for strengthening medical care activities for the BJP in Tamil Nadu as a public health expert associated with several national and State level institutions.
“AIIMS in particular will be help thousands of people day in and day out for families in Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar and Sivaganga districts etc……They need not pour in lakhs of rupees for corporate private hospitals since AIIMS Madurai will be a top class Central Government hospital with all facilities……” Dr.S.Elango has said.
