MADURAI: When something is most talked about and gets positive feedback, we call it as Talk of the Town.
But, something from Madurai has now become TALK OF THE NATION and that model is receiving good appreciation. It has even already drawn the attention of BJP’s national leadership at the party’s National Executive held in New Delhi on September 8th and 9th 2018.
Yes. It is the innovative idea called ‘Thaamarai Sevagan’ introduced in September 2017 and is being executed by the Madurai Rural District of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s Central Government welfare schemes to the people’s doorstep directly. (District president Mr.Maha.Suseendhran and his team are vigorously working for the past one year).
Here. a BJP cadre dons the role of ‘Thaamarai Sevagan’ (meaning the Lotus Servant) in his or her village by coordinating with local village / panchayat officials or district administration to help people benefit from Mr.Modi’s high impact welfare schemes such as gas cylinder or housing or farmers’ assistance etc.
Like this. a large contingent of BJP functionaries have now turned ‘Thaamarai Sevagans’ in Madurai Rural district of the party.
AT BJP NATIONAL EXECUTIVE:
This ‘Thaamarai Sevagan’ concept of BJP Madurai Rural district was explained to the national executive delegates by Tamil Nadu BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan after which there is a talk that many have evinced interest to follow suit.
“I am very happy to hear that Madurai Rural BJP became a talking point model. It is significant because the party cadres here are taking welfare schemes to deserving poor people in villages and all panchayats…Our State president Dr.Tamilisai had briefed about ‘Thaamarai Sevagan’ to the National Executive members. It is a proud moment for Madurai Vibagh because I conceptualised the idea along with Mr.Suseendhran and team and he could make it a people’s movement with his team in Madurai Rural,” said Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP State Secretary and Madurai Zone in-charge, when contacted by ‘Lotus Times’ on September 15th 2018 Saturday.
MORE THAN ONE LAKH PEOPLE:
According to BJP Madurai Rural district president Mr.Maha.Suseendhran, the ‘Thaamarai Sevagan’ volunteers had already reached Mr.Modi’s popular welfare schemes to 1,20,000 persons in the past one year. (Ujwala, Awaz Yojana housing, insurance, farmers’ crop scheme etc.)
“Other parties such as AIADMK and DMK could not take these welfare schemes of our Prime Minister Mr.Modi to the people directly. But, our BJP cadres took up the task and are working hard on the ground to help people…..” Mr.Maha.Suseendhran has said.
A GOOD RECOGNITION:
In his concluding comment, Prof.Dr.Srinivasan has said that BJP is the only party that recognizes the hard work and good work of its district presidents and the talk about Madurai Rural at our National Executive is an example of that.
“If we serve people truly, the success is ours.” he exuded confidence and congratulated Madurai Rural District BJP.
