CHENNAI: Making a strong plea for the socio-economic empowerment of people belonging to Other Backward Communities (OBCs), a specific request has been made to the Central Government to provide reservation in admission for OBC students in Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) schools, Navodaya Schools and Sainik schools.
A resolution to this effect was passed at the OBC Cell meeting of Tamil Nadu BJP held at the party headquarters Kamalalayam in T.Nagar in Chennai on August 28th 2018 which was the State EC meeting and also attended by district presidents of OBC Morcha.
FIVE RESOLUTIONS FOR OBC PEOPLE:
At this meeting on August 28th 2018 in Chennai, five important resolutions have been adopted for the welfare of people from OBC communities.
Mr.S.Karvendhar, OBC Cell State president along with Tamil Nadu BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan, BJP State general secretary Mrs.Vanathi Srinivasan. State general secretary (organisation) Shri.Kesava Vinayagam and Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan. have guided the participants who came from various district OBC cells in Tamil Nadu.
FROM MADURAI DIVISION:
Mr.G.P.Baskaran, OBC Cell State Secretary from Madurai Zone who attended the Chennai meeting. has said that the meeting had thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for according Constitutional status to the OBC Commission.
“Firstly, in this meeting we expressed our heartfelt condolences over the demise of our great former PM Shri.Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji. Implementation of reservation by filling up backlog vacancies for OBCs, loan waiver relief for small and medium level farmers who took laons from nationalized banks, reservation of school seats in admissions in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sainik schools and Navodaya schools for OBC students also and free LPG gas cylinders for women below BPL category in the OBC communities are among our prime demands and requests…….” Mr.Baskaran has said in Madurai on August 29th 2018.
