MADURAI: A fervent appeal was made from Madurai to the Tamil Nadu State Government and policy makers to stop their excess Chennai-centric focus for investments and industries and instead look at the nine southern districts also in Tamil Nadu which are languishing for want of development.

The demand for development action plan came up at the first meeting of a new forum called ‘Development Institute for South Tamil Nadu (DIST),’ which was held at MADITSSIA Hall in Madurai on August 7th 2018.

Senior representatives of leading trade body MADITSSIA (Mr.KR.Gnanasambandan, Mr.V.S.Manimaran and Mr.B.Muruganadham) along with Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan heard the views and concerns of a wide spectrum of invitees who attended the discussion meet for southern districts’ development.
