MADURAI: In the new GST tax regime across India with one nation – one tax basis from July 1st 2017, the Tamil Nadu BJP Traders Cell has shaped itself up as a Good Service Team to create more awareness / participation and guide the trading / business community on indirect tax payments.
A meeting of the State Office-bearers of the BJP Traders Cell in Tamil Nadu was held in Madurai city on January 24th 2018 (Wednesday) where a focused action plan was chalked out.
Mr.Raja Kannan, State president- Convenor of the BJP Traders’ Cell in Tamil Nadu, presided over the meeting and a whole direction was worked out in the presence of Traders’ Cell vice-president – Co-convenor Mr.R.Thirumalai, State secretary for traders cell Mr.C.M.Karthick Prabu (from Madurai) and other State office-bearers.
GST PLAN IS READY:
1. The BJP Traders’ Cell has decided to strengthen its organisational network through periodical meetings with district level office-bearers. By the end of February 2018, State-level EC meeting of Traders Cell will be called for to further strengthen the activity plan.
2. PETROL AND DIESEL issues as desired to be in the gamut of GST will be taken up with officials concerned in the context of petroleum products for which requests are coming in from the people / traders / business segment for their rate reduction.
3. GST boost gets in the form of felicitating / recognizing the high GST payer in every district in Tamil Nadu by the BJP Traders Cell. This is to give boost in trading segment from the ground.
4. The intellectual / moral and party support being given by the Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan will be taken forward at all levels to further widen the GST related work in Madurai region / other districts.
HELD SPECIAL MEETINGS:
“With the support of our Prof.Dr. Srinivasan, we had exclusive meetings with 16 associations / trade bodies etc individually and group wise……..We had meetings with Foodgrains association and MADITSSIA etc…….The work will be enhanced in Madurai region with the guidance of Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan,” the BJP Traders Cell State Secretary Mr.C.M.Karthick Prabu told ‘Lotus Times’ website in Madurai on January 26th 2018.
ALREADY GOT SUCCESS:
Giving details about the BJP Traders Cell’s success in Madurai division and elsewhere after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system came into effect all over India last July, Mr.Karthick Prabu said that the GST rates for over 10 products got reduced because of the BJP Traders Cell intervention from Madurai under the guidance of Prof.Dr.Srinivasan and BJP team who heard the traders’ representations personally.
“From now on, we will take up the business community’s tax concerns – GST issues- etc with the concerned officials from our party side and the BJP is there to ease the feelings of our traders…….The Tamil Nadu BJP Traders Cell will standby the traders as far as their GST issues are concerned and our leaders will take up at the GST Council meetings,” Mr.Karthick Prabu has said in Madurai on January 26th 2018.
