MADURAI: India is a large democracy that cherishes values and freedom. Our freedom fighters sacrificed their lives and got us freedom…..Remember the names like Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, VOC Pillai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Pasumpon Thevar etc…..So, let us not take money for votes and reject those parties that are distributing cash for your votes,”
This was the appeal by Tamil Nadu BJP leader Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan to the voters while speaking at a public meeting held at K.Pudur (Ward 45) in Madurai city on November 25th 2017 – Saturday evening.
SEE THE VIDEO SPEECH:
He said that political parties which had swindled and looted people’s money are distributing cash to lure the voters at the time of elections. “Votes are not for money. Elect a good party like the BJP and select a good candidate who will work for you,” he appealed.
EXPLAIN THE SOURCE OF INCOME:
Prof.Dr.Srinivasan, who is State Secretary of Tamil Nadu BJP and Madurai Division in-charge for the party, has said that thousands of shell companies, benami properties and tax evaders came to light after Modi’s bold Demonetisation decision on November 8th 2016 and the recent roll out of GST.
“What is wrong in asking for your source of income…..All of us have to explain. Aadhaar card linkage for transactions is making life tough for tax evaders. Only those who looted and swindled are objecting Aadhaar. The common man on the street is welcoming Modi government decisions,” he added.
TIGHTENING THE SCREWS:
The BJP leader had warned that tax defaulters, tax evaders, benami companies and shell companies will have tough time ahead as Mr.Modi is going to further “tighten the screws”.
Fake ration cards have been removed. “Those who did not pay taxes properly till now are paying taxes after GST. So, the honest tax payers need not worry at all. Only those who were evading are made to pay taxes,” Prof.Dr.Srinivasan had pointed out.
Pudur K.Raja, district president of Madurai urban district propaganda cell and Mr.D.M.Balakrishnan, BJP Madurai Urban district general secretary, were among those present at the Pudur public meeting in Ward 45 in Madurai on November 25th 2017.
