MADURAI: The message of saffron surge in Tamil Nadu was loud and clear with the BJP commencing its Road Show/ campaign-cum-people contact from Usilampatti town in Madurai district on November 22nd 2017 (Wednesday).
Carrying the party flags amidst drum beats, public announcements and leaders’ speeches, a large number of party functionaries walked for hours in Usilampatti in this special mission called ‘Makkal Sandhippu Iyakkam’ (meeting the people movement) which was organised by the BJP Madurai Rural district.
By afternoon, the multi-purpose campaign had gained significant momentum as the BJP leaders, cadres and office-bearers covered all the main roads, by-lanes, residential pockets, market place, bus stand etc thereby giving good visibility for the party and rejuvenated the cadres’ spirits.

Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary and Madurai Division in-charge for the party along with Mr.Maha.Suseendhran, Madurai Rural District president, led the ‘walk and work with goal’ mission in Usilampatti.
While the achievements of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi government were explained through campaign songs and short speeches, the leaders also spoke to local people on why Tamil Nadu should choose BJP in coming elections and shun the Dravidian parties.
RESPECTS TO PASUMPON THEVAR:
The Madurai Rural district team and cadres of the BJP also continued with their active pursuits for the party success by directly collecting fund for the party and seeking their support.
Whatever the people, passersby and shop-keepers offered, the party cadres took saying a hearty thanks.
“Ours is a party that is honest and transparent….We are not a rich party because there is no corruption or kickbacks whereas you know how thousands of crores of rupees unearthed during IT raids…….We are seeking people’s donation for continuing our good work with your blessings and for the good of our State and country,” Prof.Dr.Srinivasan, has said while meeting the people in Usilampatti on November 22nd 2017.
COLLECTING PARTY FUND FROM THE PEOPLE:
The response from Usilampatti people was encouraging at all places and the Lotus flag is flying high all through the town in this special drive.
It could be gauged from the people’s mood that there is a strong undercurrent in favour of the BJP and the sustained momentum in Usilampatti assembly constituency will result in party’s success when the time for ballot comes to the voters.
