MADURAI: Winning all the eight wards and thereby winning eight councillors for the BJP in coming local body elections should be the goal of all party workers in Pudur mandal in Madurai city, Mr.S.Siva Murugan, district president of Tamil Development Cell, Virudhunagar district, has said.
“Our party must grow from the position of receiving representations from the people to the level of Madurai Corporation councillors ……and we should not give representations to others on our civic problems……So, let us work and win in local body elections and aim for BJP candidates’ victory in Madurai Corporation elections,” he added.
Mr.Siva Murugan was addressing the Pudur Mandal EC meeting at Melamadai area (Ward 30) in Madurai on November 12th 2017 (Sunday).
VERY GOOD CHANCE FOR BJP:
He told the Pudur Mandal Executive Committee members that BJP stands a very good chance for victory in Tamil Nadu politics / elections because it is being looked at as the best alternative to Dravidian parties, Congress and Communists thanks to the Development agenda of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi.
Mr.Siva Murugan, who was the chief guest for the Pudur Mandal EC meeting, also spoke about the Vajpayee government achievements, several political crises faced by the BJP in the past and the election victory of Mr.Velayudham as MLA at a tough time in 1996 from Padmanabhapuram assembly constituency.
MADURAI NORTH AS MODEL CONSTITUENCY
Mr.M.S.Rajkumar, who is spearheading the Madurai North Assembly Constituency groundwork at booth level with a special team for the BJP, has explained to the EC members about the criteria to be strictly followed to make Madurai North as a model assembly constituency, starting from booth committee level.
Pudur Mandal falls under Madurai North Constituency and it has eight wards in its jurisdiction.
Mr.O.B.Gopidoss, BJP Madurai Urban district treasurer, Mr.R.Jothi Manivannan (Sankar), Pudur mandal president, Mr.U.Hari Singh, senior leader and BJP National Council Member, Mrs.Shanmugavalli, women’s wing district vice-president and Mr.Basheer Ahamed, BJP Councillor Candidate for Ward 30 and a prominent figure in the BJP district minorities wing, were among those who were present.
