MADURAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is keeping up the political momentum high in Madurai city by holding public meetings to highlight the achievements of Modi government and the BJP’s good governance / development plank.
On November 8th 2017, the party’s Madurai Urban District unit had organised a public meeting at Sellur in Madurai where the people welfare schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi were explained in detail to create more public awareness among the common people.
Welfare schemes of the Modi government for the poor and economically backward people – electricity, housing for all, accident insurance just for Rs.12 premium annually, and funds given for construction of toilets etc…are being highlighted in the BJP’s public meetings.
“We have been conducting street corner / public meetings across the city. Our aim is to hold one public meeting in each ward and cover all the 100 wards of Madurai Corporation with 100 meetings…..The public response is very good and encouraging,” Mr.’Pudur’ K.Raja, Madurai City BJP Propaganda Wing urban district president, has said on November 9th 2017 (Thursday).
The public meetings were already conducted at Anna Nagar, Pykara, Krishnapuram Colony, Anuppanadi, Dinamani Talkies and at other places in Madurai city.
UNION MINISTER PONNAAR PARTICIPATES:
The public meeting in Sellur was addressed by Union Minister of State for Shipping and Finance Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan who spoke in detail about the benefits / economic progress due to the Demonetisation announced a year ago by Modi on November 8th 2016.
Benefits accruing to the Indian economy and the elimination of Black Money / shell companies / tax evaders were explained by the BJP leaders to the large gathering of public from Sellur mandal area.
12 MEETINGS CONDUCTED SO FAR:
Totally 12 public meetings have been conducted till now by the BJP in Madurai city at different locations. Public meeting at Sellur on November 8th 2017 was the 12th meeting coinciding with the first anniversary of Demonetisation which was described as Anti-Black Money Day and celebrated by the BJP cadres all over Tamil Nadu.
BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, State Vice-President Mr.S.Surendran, Women’s Wing State president Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi, Madurai urban district BJP president Mr.Saseeraman and other party leaders spoke.
Propaganda Wing district president Mr.’Pudur’ K.Raja and Madurai North Assembly Constituency ‘Prabhari’ Mr.K.K.Nagar M.Kannan welcomed the gathering and guests. Sellur mandal president Mr.Janardhanan proposed a vote of thanks.
