MADURAI: Union Minister of State for Shipping and Finance and senior BJP leader in Tamil Nadu Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan has put before the media and special invitees in Madurai the success facts of the bold Demonetisation step taken by Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi exactly a year ago on November 8th 2016.
He had addressed a press conference and later had a special meeting with special invitees / professionals from various walks of life in Madurai on November 8th 2017 (Wednesday) to mark the first anniversary of the ‘DEMON’ success.
Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan had launched a signature campaign to convey public support for the Modi’s drive against black money through the demonetisation decision exactly a year ago.
APPEAL TO THE MEDIA:
The Union Minister had appealed to the media and press fraternity to take to the people the positive things that happened in the last one year because of the November 8 decision of Mr.Modi.
“People of this country had welcomed and participated in this anti-black money mission of our Prime Minister despite some hardships / large queues initially at ATMs…….Poor people are happy with Modi’s decision….it is only tax evaders and black money hoarders who got rattled when Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 currency notes were withdrawn from the system,” Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan had explained.
MASSIVE CLEAN-UP:
Suspicious bank transactions came to light, shell companies were identified, black money got caught, fake currency was removed and ultimately the tax revenue for the Indian government increased due to reforms undertaken by Modi government, the Union Minister told the media citing statistics, facts and figures.
Mr.S.Surendran, State BJP Vice-President, Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP State Secretary and Mr.Saseeraman, Madurai City (Maanagar) BJP president along with party office-bearers of Madurai Urban and Madurai Rural districts were among those who attended the meeting in Madurai held at Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry auditorium on November 8th 2017.
