MADURAI BJP ‘MODEL’ PLAN FOR TWO ASSEMBLY CONSTITUENCIES

2005
MADURAI: Thinking on professional lines, the Madurai Urban District unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated work to make two assembly constituencies as role-model ones  – Madurai Central and Madurai North assembly constituencies.

A special meeting of Madurai city (Maanagar) BJP office-bearers was held on 7th November 2017 (Tuesday) at the party’s Parliament constituency election office in Bibikulam in Madurai.

The meeting was presided over by Madurai Urban district BJP president Mr.Saseeraman and the discussion was guided by BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary / party’s Madurai division in-charge Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan.

CRITERIA FOR A MODEL CONSTITUENCY:

According to Prof.Dr.Srinivasan, there are about eight criteria and parameters to be fulfilled for being a model constituency.

There should be separate assembly constituency office for the party in both Madurai Central and Madurai North assembly constituencies.. All the booths should have become eligible / qualified with the prescribed number of booth committee members.

The booth committees should be vibrant. Every Tuesday, booth committee meetings should take place. There should be BJP flag post in every booth in the model constituency.

VIBRANT SOCIAL MEDIA:

Each booth must possess full electoral rolls – voter list booth wise. And, there should a ‘page’ in-charge for voters’ list electoral roll in every booth. Finally, the social media team in that assembly constituency will function vibrantly and actively to reach the voters and general public with information.

“We want to complete this basic criteria work by December 31st 2017……Instructions were given to office-bearers in these two assembly constituencies – Madurai North and Madurai Central – to complete the groundwork soon….,” Mr.Saseeraman has said.

BJP office-bearers looking after the two assembly constituencies including Mr.U.Hari Singh, Mr.D.M.Balakrishnan (district general secretary), K.K.Nagar M.Kannan, Mr.S.K.Hariharan (vice-president), Mr.M.S.Rajkumar and Mr.S.P.Selva Pandi (BJP full-time worker in Madurai North constituency) attended the special meeting.
