MADURAI: The novel concept called ‘Thamarai Sevagan’ which was conceived by the BJP Madurai Rural District unit was formally launched at a function held in Madurai on September 25th 2017.
A large group of ‘Thamarai Sevagan’ volunteers will work with service motto in their respective panchayats in Madurai Rural to take the Pirme Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes to the deserving people,
This initiative was launched on September 25th to mark the culmination of centenary year celebrations of party ideologue Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Mr.Maha Suseendhran, BJP Madurai Rural district president, has said that the ‘Thamarai Sevagan’ will be the direct link between village people and district / municipal / other government authorities and this party-designated volunteer will create public awareness about central government schemes, eligibility information and how to avail them.
LOTUS SYMBOL IN VILLAGES:
“The Thamarai Sevagan will also popularise the BJP’s Lotus (Thamarai) symbol. All the panchayats (over 400) and all the wards will be covered in Madurai Rural jurisdiction. A special kit containing informative brochures and important phone numbers were given to them. From panchayat level, we are working and it also helps us in strengthening the organisational base of the BJP in Madurai district,” Mr.Suseendran has said at the inaugural function.
Mr.B.T.Arasa Kumar, Tamil Nadu BJP State Vice-President, has said that the political situation in the State has completely changed in the absence of Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa.
VERY GOOD WORK BY MADURAI RURAL:
Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP State Secretary, has appreciated the Madurai Rural unit of the party for their very good work and a mission to do voluntary service in villages.
“Thamarai Sevagan is a new dimension given by the party while other political parties think of only public meetings and protests. Here, our volunteers will serve the people silently and sincerely,” he added.
Prof.Dr.Srinivasan also emphasised that the current political vacuum in Tamil Nadu can be filled only by the BJP and the door-to-door service by Thamarai Sevagan will yield good results and the party will easily win public confidence.
Mr.K.C.Thirumaran, founder of South India Forward Bloc and senior auditor Mr.N.Sudhakaran, were among those present on the dais.
