HINDU SPIRITUAL AND SERVICE FAIR AT CHENNAI FROM JAN 23rd TO 29th

MADURAI: Various Caste Community organisations will participate in the Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair to be held in Chennai from January 23rd to 29th 2018 at Guru Nanak College in Chennai Velachery.
 
The objective of this fair is to highlight the service / charity / public welfare activities being done by castes and communities in a non-political manner thereby kindling a sense of service among people in their own possible way.
 
A meeting to discuss about preparations for the Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair was held at Chokkikulam in Madurai city on September 16th 2017 (Saturday).
 
Swadeshi Jagran Manch Tamil Nadu State Co-Convener Mrs.Rajalakshmi and Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan have explained the objectives of Chennai fair to representatives from different caste communities.
 
 
FOR THE LAST EIGHT YEARS:
 
“Our Hindu spiritual organisations are involved in many charitable activities….Caste community are engaged in charity works…..For the last eight years, we have been holding such fairs by inviting organisations to take part in the fair,” Prof.Dr.Srinivasan has said after the meeting.
 
He observed that caste communities are essential for social and economic progress of our people and to sustain the culture and spirituality. 
 
“This is a non-political approach of castes that are doing great service……The Chennai fair exhibition will bring them together and promotes harmony,” he added.
 
Prof.Dr.Srinivasan pointed out that there is a need for unlearning with regard to castes and communities. “We have learnt that caste is strong, and now we also say that caste is right to keep people together with their own identity.”
 
 
DIFFERENT CASTES ATTENDED:
 
Representatives and leaders from various caste – communities including Kallar, Maravar, Devendra Kula Velalar, Agamudaiyar, Naidu, Reddiar, Yadav, Mannar etc attended the meeting.
 
M.Thangaraj of Devendrakula Velalar who is one of the coordinators for the Chennai fair, said that the spiritual activities and service initiatives of Hindu castes will be highlighted with exhibits and information at the ‘Hindu Aanmeega Sevai Kangatchi’ from January 23rd to 29th.
 
At the meeting, the caste representatives spoke about our culture, tradition, social unity, harmony, co-existence, nature, spiritual values and social work.
