ERODE: The Erode district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had conducted a free medical / health screening camp cum awareness rally at Elumathur village, about 10 kms from here, on August 20th 2017.
This health camp was held because the district party leaders were concerned over the threat of Dengue fever cases in Tamil Nadu and the urgent need to help village people who are living in unsanitary public health conditions in several places.
The importance of cleanliness of our surroundings, toilet facilities, underground drainage, avoiding water stagnation and the role of every individual in Swacchh Bharat National Mission of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi was highlighted to create public awareness among the villagers.

AWARENESS RALLY AND TESTS:
The BJP Erode district’s free health camp had benefited over 250 persons – children and several aged people too – in Elumathur village and nearby, according to Mrs.K.S.Soundram, former MP and a member of the Tamil Nadu BJP’s Department of Coordination with Election Commission.
Thirteen doctors from Dr..C.K.Saraswathi hospital conducted medical tests for children and diabetes tests too were done for some elders in village.
“Swacchh Bharat mission of our Prime Minister is not just about dumping of waste….The thought of cleanliness must come from us, from our heart….So, let us all work to keep our village clean. Then, dengue will not be there….everything is in our hands and I also urge the municipal and public health authorities to take measures for hygiene and health,” Mrs.Soundram said while addressing the villagers.
Among those who were present at the free medical camp conducted by the party were State Secretary Dr.C.K.Saraswathi, BJP district president Mr.Sivasubramanian, and other party leaders from the mandal level..
