MADURAI: The 71st Independence Day was celebrated on Tuesday with passion and patriotism filled with resolve to build a New India. BJP office-bearers and cadres hoisted the national flag at various places in Madurai city chanting ‘Bharath Matha Ki Jai.’ Tri-colour was hoisted near the Pudur market and sweets were distributed by the BJP team on behalf of Pudur Mandal.
Shastry V.Mallady, BJP Intellectual Cell State Secretary and R.Jothi Manivannan alias Shankar, Pudur Mandal president, unfurled the national flag in the presence of party office-bearers and public. The sacrifices made during the freedom struggle and leaders who gave their lives for the cause of our Independence from the British rule were recalled on this occasion.
Pudur C.Saravanan, BJP traders’ cell district president, Mr.Durai Maran, Ward 45 ward president, Sunitha Mallady, BJP District secretary and E.Praveen Raj, district youth wing office-bearer along with party cadres from Pudur mandal area of the party, attended the national flag hoisting ceremony on August 15th 2017 (Tuesday).
