NEET IS A GREAT CHANCE FOR TAMIL NADU STUDENTS: BJP LEADER

MADURAI: The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 will prove to be a windfall for State Board students in Tamil Nadu and the critics / opposition political parties and those who are raising doubts will be proved wrong in just a few days, said the senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mr.H.Raja on August 12th 2017.
 
“You will see it in the merit list in a couple of days….NEET will help Tamil Nadu State Board students…the poor plus two students from State government schools in this State will get the positive result….and I have sent e-mail to the Prime Minister, Union Health Minister Mr.J.P.Nadda, Union Commerce Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman and others already,” he added.
 
The BJP senior leader, who is the national secretary of the party, expressed his opinions frankly, in the ‘Agni Paritchai; interview on Tamil news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai, telecast on August 12th 2017.
 
 
MEDICAL COLLEGE SEATS:
 
“CBSE schools and their students had advantage till now in medical college admissions because of their mode of learning…Now, you will see the merit ranking list and State Board students who appeared for the NEET will have advantage now,” Mr.H.Raja has said.
 
He opposed to the practice of doing Plus Two syllabus for the Plus One students while in the higher secondary first year itself in schools. He supported the State government schools schools which followed procedure. 
 
“Till now….our party leaders in Tamil Nadu or in Delhi could not comment on NEET for medical college admissions in this State because it is matter subjudice
…but the Supreme Court in its order on August 11th made it clear and people know whether there is quota or not…..merit will win,”  he said in the TV news channel interview.
 
 
SUPPORT STATE BOARD STUDENTS:
 
The BJP national secretary had emphasised that 88,000 students appeared for NEET in Tamil Nadu and over 90 per cent of them were State Board students. “I am with the poor government school students and in future these students will gain with new system.”
 
“When the NEET merit list comes, State Board students who wrote the NEET will figure in the list largely and the opposition parties will be disproved…NEET is not an emotive issue…..I have the RTI data with me..” Mr.H.Raja added.
 
He disputed the arguments of how many thousands of rupees was spent on entrance coaching and the doubts whether Tamil Nadu government and the political parties’ arguments in this State are correct.
 
“Hundreds of students spoke to me directly…parents wrote to me on NEET and they are all supportive because they want a professional system, quality and merit based approach….I think there is no place for politics here,” the BJP leader had asserted.
