MADURAI: We all know that the party founded by great legendary iconic actor M.G.Ramachandran is AIADMK. There is no comparison for his charisma and uttering his name brought votes to this party even after his passing away….then came Ms.Jayalalithaa and we know how she led the party in Tamil Nadu with complete control.
But, look at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). When it took roots and originated from the ideology and sacrifices of nationalist ideologues like inspiring Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, it was not a force in India’s political scene a few decades ago.
When Pandit Deendayal was assassinated in the year 1968, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh which is the forerunner of present day BJP was not a major force and at that time no one imagined how this ideology based movement would take shape in this country.
Now, see the present situation in Indian politics and in current Tamil Nadu scenario. The comparison between charismatic MGR and committed ideologue Deendayal and the difference between AIADMK and the BJP needs to be understood.
This comparison and difference was lucidly explained by BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan at the Madurai Urban district unit EC meeting held in Madurai on August 6th 2017.
THE DIFFERENCE IS…
Fifty years after the passing away of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the BJP is today in power in 18 States in India. But, MGR’s party is now split in to three factions and the party’s two-leaves symbol was frozen by the Election Commission because of the split.
“So, who is a true leader? It is only our Pandit Deendayal because his influence is very much there in his birth centenary year 2017 whereas in the birth centenary year of MGR, his party lost unity and became three groups. So, it is only BJP that projects its ideology and true sacrifice whereas parties like the AIADMK which projected only individuals stand to lose,” Dr.Srinivasan observed.
The message sent out to the BJP cadres at the ground level was that ideology wins always and not individual / personality focused political parties. And, the example is the mammoth victories of the BJP in election after election in our country. This is happening only because of cadres’ sacrifice, their commitment and dedication.
Mr.M.R.Gandhi, Tamil Nadu BJP State Vice-President, Mr.Saseeraman, Madurai city unit president and others were present.
