MADURAI: Union Finance Minister Mr.Arun Jaitley and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry (Independent Charge) Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman paid their respects at the Jayalalithaa Samadhi in Chennai on July 30th 2017 (Sunday).
Mr.Jaitley went around the memorial of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalaithaa paying his respects at the Marina Beach in Chennai and offered his tributes to the departed leader.
The Union Finance Minister was in Chennai on July 30th 2017 to take part in a meeting on the recently passed Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act that is aimed at bringing in uniform one country one tax regime in India.
An exclusive meeting was organised in Chennai by the leading chambers of commerce and industry bodies. Mr.Jaitley. along with Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman, clarified the doubts of industry and received their representations for changes in the GST rates.
Tamil Nadu Minister Mr.D.Jayakumar and others were with Mr.Jaitley when he offered his respects at the memorial samadhi of Ms.Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK supremo who passed away on December 5th 2016.
