RAMESWARAM: For pilgrims, tourists, devotees and others from Tamil Nadu and southern India who want to visit Ayodhya to see the Ram Janmabhoomi (Lord Rama’s birthplace), they can now easily book a berth in train and go to see the birth place of Lord Sri Ram.
Thanks to the Prime Narendra Modi government and Southern Railway’s quick steps, an express train from Rameswaram to Ayodhya (upto Faizabad in UP) was introduced to link Rameswaram to famous Lord Ram temple.
On July 27th 2017, Mr.had flagged off the Rameswaram – Faizabad- Rameswaram Weekly Express Train via Ayodhya thereby bringing in rail connectivity from south to the north for the Lord Ram devotees.
The Ayodhya Express travels through six States in the country by originating from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. “I am very happy to dedicate this train to the nation today…There are bio-toilets in this train…”, he told the gathering at public meeting in Rameswaram after opening the national memorial for former President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.
CONVENIENT TRAIN:
For the pilgrims and tourists from the northern States, this weekly express train will be convenient. The train that starts from Rameswaram will halt at these places: Manamadurai, Tiruchi, Thanjavur, Villupuram, Chennai Egmore, Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Balharshah, Nagpur, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna, Allahabad, Jaunpur and Ayodhya.
The Train Number is: 16793 / 16794. For those people coming from the north by this train, they can complete the Rameswaram darshan and later see the national memorial of former President Dr.Kalam in this temple town.
Union Ministers Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan and Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman, Ramanathapuram Lok Sabha MP Mr.A.Anvar Raja and Ramanathapuram district collector Mr.S.Natarajan were among those present.
