MODI LANDS IN MADURAI, LEAVES FOR RAMESWARAM

MADURAI: Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi had arrived at Madurai airport enroute to Rameswaram on July 27th 2017 where he is inaugurating the national memorial of former President of India Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.
 
Accompanied by the NDA’s Vice-President nominee Mr.M.Venkaiah Naidu, the Prime Minister reached the Madurai airport by a special flight at 10.10 a.mwhere he was accorded a warm welcome.
 
Tamil Nadu Governor in-charge Mr.Ch.Vidyasagar Rao and the Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi Palaniswami received the Prime Minister as he alighted from the flight.
 
Minister Sellur K.Raju, Madurai district collector Mr.K.Veera Raghava Rao and MLA V.V.Rajan Chellappa were among those who received from the government side.
 
BOOK ON MEENAKSHI TEMPLE:
 
BJP leaders including party’s State vice-president Mr.S.Surendran, Tamil Nadu Women’s Wing State president Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi and Madurai BJP Urban district city president Mr.Saseeraman received the Prime Minister on behalf of the party at the Madurai airport.
 
Mr.Saseeraman presented a book on the famous Meenakshi Temple ‘The Great Temple in India’ to the Prime Minister.
 
Later, Mr.Modi left by helicopter to Rameswaram where he will declare open the national memorial of Dr.Kalam built at a cost of Rs.16 crore on two-acre land at Peikarumbu near Rameswaram.
 
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate special express weekly train introduced from Rameswaram to Ayodhya and also distribute fishing equipment to fishermen. In the afternoon, Mr.Modi will address a massive public meeting.
 
BJP leaders and cadres turned up in large numbers for Mr.Modi’s event in Rameswaram.
