MADURAI: “Anybody can come to politics and according to me everybody above 18 years of age and with voting right is very much eligible to show interest for political life….But, if somebody wants to become Chief Minister, it requires leadership qualities. Is Kamal Haasan, who is now suddenly talking about politics, corruption and politicians, having that required leadership material….My answer is Kamal has no courage…”
This was the open observation of BJP’s national secretary and senior leader Mr. H.Raja, who is a fiery speaker with clear opinions on issues, while speaking on Jaya Plus channel on July 25th 2017.
He was responding to questions raised on actor Kamal Haasan whose political foray is being widely speculated in Tamil Nadu because of his public utterances in meetings and social media in the last few weeks.
Mr.Raja reminded the TV show senior anchor and the viewers that actor Kamal Haasan threatened to leave the country when his film ‘Viswaroopam’ faced trouble for release.
“Some groups criticised and objected to the film’s content….Kamal could have held talks for solution. Instead he threatened to go out of this country. I feel that actor Vijay behaved in a matured manner when his film faced similar objections. Actor Vijay did not say he will leave India ,” the BJP leader pointed out.
WINNER NEVER QUITS:
Mr.Raja retorted to Kamal’s recent statements by quoting an English saying that ‘a winner never quits and a quitter never wins. This saying is applicable to actor Kamal Haasan.” The BJP national secretary lashed out at Kamal Haasan for ‘trying to show off as a valiant fighter and as a crusader to fight corruption.
“His attempt to be soft towards the DMK only exposes his thought process and intentions…..DMK is our party’s ideological opponent. I am criticising Kamal on ideological lines because his thoughts on God and temples, Dravidian talk, anti-Hindi stand etc will not go with the principles and ideology of the BJP,” Mr.Raja added.
Mr.Raja asserted that neither the DMK nor Kamal Haasan will be able to take away the votes of nationalist minds and all nationalist votes will come only to the saffron party. He blasted actor Kamal Haasan for his tweets and talk on corruption as if being a champion against corruption.
“The DMK is a party of corruption and Sarkaria Commission report had famously stated long back that DMK government indulged in scientific looting of public money. So, how can the so called corruption fighter Kamal remain silent on DMK’s past,” the BJP senior leader had questioned.
