MADURAI: There is a lot of difference popular actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan both of whom are being talked about their possible entry into Tamil Nadu politics and the BJP has its clear views, according to the party’s State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan.
“The impression being created by Kamal, his recent outbursts, the feeling being created that as if political leaders did not do anything for the State till now and only film personality can do it are wrong. The timing of Kamal in raising people’s issues only now is under doubt,” she said in an interview to Tamil news channel ‘Puthiya Thalaimurai’ on July 23rd 2017 (Sunday).
Answering a volley of questions on both the top actors who are expected to take political plunge, she said that only Rajinikanth has been raising his voice on public/social issues since 1996 and the people of Tamil Nadu knows that.
“By nature Rajini is of that type and he showed that…..anyone can enter politics….now Kamal Haasan is talking through twitter only by suddenly coming from film industry….at one stage when there was an issue with regard to release of his film with the Jayalalithaa government, Kamal said publicly that he will leave the country…we all know that….”, Dr.Tamilisai said.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS NOT POLITICS:
The BJP Tamil Nadu State president told during the interview that Kamal Haasan and everyone must know that politics is not just commenting on Twitter account or other social media but it is all about meeting the people, spend long hours with people and know their problems.
For repeated questions from the TV interview anchor on which side the BJP is when it comes to Rajini or Kamal, she said that the party did not see in that way but the people of this State knows that Rajini was connected with politics since 1996 when he gave some famous words in assembly election campaign.
“What social issues did Kamal Haasan raise? Did he speak about floods or any other issue? Twitter can’t make a person as leader…..don’t imagine as if only imported film starts can do everything…..we are all working for decades in politics. Kamal Haasan is trying to take advantage of the situation in Tamil Nadu after the passing away of Ms.Jayalalithaa,” the BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai told the TV channel interview in an emphatic manner.
She also said that a committed party like the BJP must not be compared with what Kamal has been talking now and it has enough people to work for weaker sections of the society.
RAJINI RAISED 20 YEARS BACK
“I am against the buildup being created that Kamal is saving Tamil Nadu….it is wrong. We all know that Rajinikanth spoke on river linking issue and he endorsed our Prime Minister Vajpayee too at that time…now there is a connect between Modi and Rajini……so only Rajini has to be seen positively at this stage,” she made it clear in the interview.
She objected to the manner in which actor Kamal Haasan has been making one-sided comments from political point of view and that is creating doubt whether he is for one particular political party……
