DINDIGUL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving sleepless nights to black money hoarders and the corrupt while his government is pursuing development agenda keeping the common man in mind, senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Tamil Nadu, have said.
Demonetisation, digital transformation, GST, Smart Cities to improve urban infrastructure, roads and highways, LPG cylinders for the poor and housing for all besides a focused foreign policy that made the world look at India are some of the achievements of the Modi-led NDA government at the Centre in the last three years, they explained.
Two party leaders – BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan and State secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan – listed out the major feats of Modi government at a massive meeting Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas Sammelan, organised by oil marketing major Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Dindigul on June 18th, Sunday.
“Some political parties and leaders are asking what Modi did for Tamil Nadu. Are they not aware that our Prime Minister gave smart cities to Tamil Nadu with central funds? After Uttar Pradesh, it is our Tamil Nadu which got more smart cities,” Dr.Tamilisai said.
She lashed out at critics for not bothering about civic amenities and underground drainage facilities when they were in power for decades together. Dr.Tamilisai pointed out that seven lakh people in Tamil Nadu gave up their LPG gas cylinder subsidy by responding to the Prime Minister’s call.
Amidst loud chants of Bharat Matha ki Jai, she said that India is becoming a super power under Modi and he is making the nation proud and every Indian live with pride through his popular ‘Make in India’ campaign.
SLEEPLESS NIGHTS:
In his speech, Dr.Srinivasan pointed out that corruption was the impression about India before Modi became Prime Minister. “In the last three years, there is not a single charge or accusation of corruption or scandal on Modi and his team. The historic demonetisation decision taken on November 8th 2016 is a turning point for India to curb corruption and black money. That decision is giving sleepless nights for those who escaped till now,” he added.
Stating that the attitude of people has changed under Modi’s leadership, Dr.Srinivasan said that people were ready to stand in queues at bank ATMs despite some hardships after Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 notes were taken away from the system. “Patriotism is at peak today and that is the biggest achievement of Modi in the last three years. His policy is that he will be honest and he makes everyone honest. We are proud to be an Indian and there is a silent revolution created by our Prime Minister,” Dr.Srinivasan said.
R.Sivasankaran, BPCL State Head (LPG) for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, S.Magesh Kumar, Territory Manager (Retail), Madurai and N.P.Mangalram, secretary, Achyuta and Akshaya Group of Schools, were among those who participated.
From the BJP side, a large number of leaders including S.K.Palaniswamy, BJP Dindigul district president, K.Thirumalai Swamy, BJP State Executive Member and T.A.Thirumalai Balaji, BJP State executive member-district central government advocate along with N.Harihara Muthu, Tamil Nadu Brahmin Association vice-president, took part in the sammelan at Dindigul.
