MADURAI: Standing up in solidarity with Islam, Muslims and other minorities in India, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madurai have made it clear that Hindutva’s supreme philosophy is to accept and respect all religions.
At an Iftar party organised by the Madurai district minorities cell of the BJP in Madurai on June 18th (Sunday), the party leaders embraced Muslims who turned up in large numbers and appealed to them not to become vote banks for other political parties since the word Hindutva is not just for Hindus alone.
Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary and Mr.Saseeraman, Madurai urban district BJP president, explained about the commitment of the BJP towards welfare of all minorities and how the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has been toiling for all sections irrespective of their religion, caste or creed.
“Hindutva means respecting and accepting all religions. No religion is superior or inferior. All religions – Hinduism, Islam or Christianity – are great and have taught same virtues for mankind. BJP never discriminates on the basis of religion because it believes in all faiths,” Dr.Srinivasan said.
He lashed out at other political parties which have created a wrong impression about BJP in the minds of minorities and he appealed to all Muslims and Christians in Tamil Nadu to rely on BJP instead of going behind the anti-God Dravidian politics campaigners.
“The grand reception given to our Prime Minister during his recent visit to Dubai by the Royal family right from his arrival at the airport and his successful relations with various other Muslim countries such as Kazhakastan, Malaysia and Afghanistan are examples. All these years, a wrong fear was created among you about the BJP by other parties and it is time the Muslim society support our party because Hindutva is inclusive and BJP firmly says that religion is a pride for everyone,” Dr.Srinivasan added.
Madurai City BJP president Mr.Saseeraman told the gathering that organising Iftar is not a ritual for the party since the BJP does it from the bottom of the heart by respecting the Muslim brothers and sisters. “All religions teach only good things and our party is concerned about minorities. BJP never discriminates people,” he stressed.
A.R.Mahalakshmi, BJP Women’s Wing State president, J.Johnson, State general secretary of BJP minorities cell, Ms.M.R.Jemelaa, BJP minorities State secretary, Calvary Thiyagarajan, district president, Madurai minorities cell, A.Lawransa, minorities cell vice-president and A.Basheer Ahamed, minorities cell general secretary, Madurai district, were among those who interacted with the participants at the Iftar party.
