MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu State Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has urged the voters, youth and the general public in the State to support BJP because patriotic Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a terrific success in making development a “people’s movement”.
“Our BJP government at the Centre led by Mr.Modi has really transformed India, Indians, their ideas and thought process. The ideals followed by our government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr.Modi has brought about perceptional change, a paradigm shift in thinking and led to a complete transformation when compared to the earlier Congress-led UPA government which was mired in corruption charges,” he said in an interview to the ‘Lotus Times’ on May 30, 2017.
His observations gain significance because the BJP-led government has completed three years of transparent governance and was successful in transforming the thought process from top to bottom and vice versa. The reforms will lead to a multiplier effect for India and its economy.
Prof.Dr.Srinivasan had listed out some top achievements of the Modi government which ushered in transformation.
“Any government will do routine welfare schemes but our BJP government went beyond and changed the perception. First see how the Prime Minister had done away with the Soviet model Planning Commission with NITI Aayog. The old model of five year plans did not work effectively for our country. In a lighter vein, some experts used to call the Yojana Bhavan (Planning Commission office) in New Delhi as sojana bhavan and bhojana bhavan. Now, Modi brought a paradigm shift in perception as NITI Aayog started giving effective plans for our country,” he explained.
The merger of railway budget with general union budget, corruption-free governance and government under Modi’s leadership, success in convincing three million people to give up LPG subsidy for gas cylinders, surgical strikes against Pakistan, demonetisation, implementation of GST, effective foreign policy with clarity and purpose are some of BJP government’s remarkable achievements.
Dr.Srinivasan says that development became a people’s movements in the last three years (2014-2017) ever since Modi took over as Prime Minister.
“It is a monumental achievement of the BJP and Modi did it with ease. I appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to support BJP and bring development in our State also,” he added.
