MADURAI: Senior leader of Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and national secretary Mr.H.Raja has thrown an open challenge to those fringe elements and fringe political parties  who have been recklessly criticising the BJP on the issues of “jallikattu” and proposed hydrocarbon project at Neduavasal in Thanjavur district to prove their credentials before opposing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi”s government.

“In Tamil Nadu, I am alerting the people that the Congress, Communists, Atheists and Jihadis have joined hands to oppose the Modi government. When I questioned about the food habits of jallikattu (bull-taming) supporters and told them to take a pledge to stop eating beef if they are really animal lovers, I got 1,000 threats on my social media account…the so called Marina revolution protestors ran away when police entered…so there are some anti-social elements who triggered the emotions of our youth for some gains,” Mr.Raja said while lashing out at the Tamil Nadu government and Marina protestors at a public meeting held in Madurai on Saturday (March 4, 2017).

The senior BJP leader pointed out that 14 States in the country were affected due to ban on jallikattu, rekla race etc but the separatist sentiments or public comments against India did not come except from Tamil Nadu.

“Such sort of separate Tamil Nadu supporters should be booked under the Goondas Act. They are anti-nationals…did any State asked about separate State just for jallikattu type events? It is all happening only in Tamil Nadu and the so called Marina Revolution is a laughing stuff because the protestors ran away after seeing the five feet cane,” he said referring to the way the Marina protest ended on jallikattu issue after police entered in to the scene.

“If you say you love jallikattu so much for our tradition and culture, then how can we kill our animal? Take a pledge whether you will stop eating beef if jallikattu event is conducted,” he asked those who held protests against the government and those who criticised the BJP.

Mr.Raja was speaking at the public meeting organised in Madurai city to explain about the achievements of Modi government at the Centre in the last three years. BJP Rajya Sabha MP and senior leader L.Ganesan, State secretary Dr.R.Srinivasan and Madurai urban district president Saseeraman were among those who spoke at the public meeting.
