MADURAI: Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr.Harsh Vardhan has expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will make a significant success in coming days in Tamil Nadu also.
“People respect our party in south and certainly BJP is the party of future in south India. In Karnataka we grew in seats and vote share, same with Kerala and I am sure that its success in Tamil Nadu too will happen,” he said in an informal chat with mediapersons during his visit to Madurai on February 24.
His observation was in the context of BJP’s stunning success in Maharashtra civic polls and Mumbai corporation elections in particular where it did very well despite break-up of alliance with Shiv Sena.
Dr.Harsh Vardhan pointed out that the Maharashtra local body election result is an indication that people are supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a big way and that they endorsed the bold demonetisation decision taken by Modi.
“Now, we can see that Modi is getting support from all parts of the country and the elections held after demonetisation gave positive verdict for the party. One day we will have a BJP government in Tamil Nadu also,” he added.
The Union Minister recalled the great contributions made by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya whose birth centenary is being celebrated in the year 2017. “His integral humanism theory is still a major influence on us….he was a great humanist, great thinker and philosopher. We are proud of such a selfless nationalist,” Dr.Harsh Vardhan said.
He stressed on the great moves taken by the Modi government to bring transparency in public life. BJP Tamil Nadu secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan and party’s Madurai urban president Saseeraman were among those present.
