BJP LEADER MUNAWARI BEGUM APPEALS TO MUSLIMS

MADURAI: There was a clear sign of positive ‘modi’fication on both sides – the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is giving great focus for the welfare of muslims and all other religious minorities and at the same time the confidence of minorities towards the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is increasing.

On January 9th, the visit of Muslim brothers and sisters to Pandit Deendayal Makkal Sevai Mayyam in Madurai to meet BJP leaders has marked the first major event of the new year. The meeting provided an opportunity to highlight the Modi government’s exclusive schemes for Muslims -especially for girls and women- implemented through various Ministries of the BJP led government at the Centre.

The confidence-building message that Modi’s priority is welfare of minorities was emphasised by the party’sl vice-president of minorities wing A.S.Munawari Begum who had declared thar Muslims can live peacefully and safely only under BJP government and it was adequately proved even since Modi took over as Prime Minister in May 2014.

“Your visit to this centre in Madurai to know about Modi government’s schemes is itself a major indication that things are changing on the ground and there is no negative opinion among minorities towards the BJP or Modi,” Ms.Begum has said.

Citing the incidents of violence and insecurity in Pakistan, she said that such a situation never arose for Muslims in India. The BJP leader lashed out at Ramanathapuram Lok Sobha MP Anwar Raja for having failed to represent the needs of Muslims in Tamil Nadu to the central government. “If Muslims realise the reality and come towards the BJP, the fate of many political parties especially the Congress party will be sealed. I can say that many parties cannot even survive at all,” Ms.Begum said.

Welfare and empowerment schemes for Muslims were explained and the significant role played by the Central Wakf Council along with Maulana Azad Education Foundation was lauded.

Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, BJP State Secretary, pointed out that there is a paradigm shift among Muslims towards BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is a huge positive development in the country. He urged the people belonging to all religious minorities to come to Makkal Sevai Mayyam in Madurai for any information or assistance.

Madurai district minority wing leaders A.Basheer Ahamed and A.Lawransa were present besides M.Thangaraj, president, Devendra Thannarva Arakattalai.

T.S.K.Gnaneswaran, BJP district secretary, Madurai, welcomed the gathering.
