Karaikudi-Manamadurai 61kms new electrified railway line inspected by top S.Rly official

MADURAI: Mr.A.K.Siddhartha, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of Southern Railway, had carried out speed trial inspection of the Karaikudi-Manamadurai new 61km electrified railway line stretch here on today-Friday 28th October 2022. Accompanied by senior railway officials, he had inspected the entire stretch taking the inspection special electric locomotive. He left Manamadurai at 14,20 hrs and reached Karaikudi at 15.10 hrs today.

A press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today had informed that Mr.Siddhartha had inspected the power line under the Sivaganga road flyover, the electric posts on the Manamadurai river bridge, Kallal substation, TNEB power line crossing over the railway line near Melakonnakulam, Kalkurichi railway gate, Sivaganga substation, Sivaganga railway station, foot over bridge and the other electrification works on curves etc.

He also ensured the availability of caution boards in railway stations and public utility areas so that the general public and passengers will be cautioned about high voltage electric lines. The Principal Chief Electrical Engineer of Southern Railway Mr.A.K.Siddhartha had also conducted a test check on the knowledge of railway trackmen about the safety rules to be adhered on this new electrified route.

Chief Project Director (Electrification) Mr.Sameer Dighe, Principal Power Distribution Engineer Mr.Surendran, Madurai Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth, Senior Divisional Electrification Engineer Mr.Bachu Ramesh and other railway officials were present during this inspection of Karaikudi-Manamadurai new electrified line today- on 28th October 2022.
