MADURAI: The Department of Social Sciences of Lady Doak College in Madurai had organized the inaugural of SOPHIS Club on August 22nd 2022. Member of Parliament Mr.Su.Venkatesan was the chief guest for this function where the office-bearers of the club for the year 2022-23 were introduced. Dr.Chirstianna Singh, Principal and Secretary of LDC, gave the introductory remarks while the office-bearers of SOPHIS Club had shared their vows to the gathering as they took charge as representatives.
Students of MSW of the department made a presentation about the internship done by them at the Madurai MP Mr.Su.Venkatesan’s office. The MP had released the internship reports of students and he had an interaction session with students. A Whatsapp forum called ‘MAATRATHITKANA MAANAVIGAL’ was launched by the MP and this forum enables the role of youth in addressing social issues.
V.Dhanalakshmi, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and Ms.Ida Jenefa, convener of SOPHIS Club, proposed a vote of thanks.
