Gangaikondan: Electronic interlocking system starts

MADURAI: Electronic Interlocking system was inaugurated at Kadambur, Vanchimaniyachchi, Tattaparai  and Gangaikondan railway stations. A state-of-the-art Electronic Interlocking (EI) system was inaugurated at Gangaikondan railway station of Madurai Division today – on 15th July 2020 by Mr.R. Bhaskaran, Principal Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer in the presence of Mr. Kamalakar Reddy, Chief Project Manager, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, Mr.Lalit Kumar Mansukhani, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Mr.Gangula Suman, Senior Divisional Signal and Telecommunication Engineer.

Senior officials of Southern Railway Madurai Division, had participated in the inaugural function.

The Electronic Interlocking System was inaugurated as part of doubling project in the Madurai – Tirunelveli / Tuticorin section.  The new system will mean faster movement of both passenger and freight trains, a press release from Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today inform.
