‘Laksha deepam’ festival shows divine light (Video)

Thiruvananthapuram: The 56-day duration ‘Lakshadeepam’ festival at the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala had concluded with lighting of one lakh oil lamps.

Started on 21st November 2019, the 56 day ‘Mura Japam’ festival of this temple concluded with ‘Laksha Deepam’ during the auspicious Pongal festival time. It is a ritual held once in six years.

Thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad had visited Thiruvananthapuram during this festival period and what is important is that the Travancore Royal family takes the lead in conducting this important temple event. 

Priests, vedic scholars and members of spiritual associations took part in the chanting of vedas and hymns in this 56-day ‘Murujapam’ /’ Laksha Deepam’ festival.
