MADURAI: Lakshmi Narasimha Swami is a very powerful God and we all know about Bhaktha Prahlathan. A temple at Sholinghur near Vellore in Tamil Nadu is an important place for devotees during this ‘Karthigai’ month. This is well known as the 95th ‘Divya Desam’.
As per mythology and inscriptions, this temple at Kadighachalam in Sholinghur was the place where Lord Narasimha gave darshan to ‘Saptharishis’ by appearing in yoga posture. Lord Bakthavachala Perumal (Utsavar) along with Sudhavalli Thaayar will give complete prosperity and blessings during this ‘Karthigai’ month to the pilgrims and devotees who visit this sacred spot.
SGKBK SAMAJAM’S CHARITY ACTIVITIES:
Sri Ghatikachala Kshetra Bhaktajana Kainkarya Samajam (SGKBK) is a charitable Trust that has been doing lot of devotee-centric programmes all through the year and particularly during ‘Karthigai’ festival time ‘annadhanam’ is an important activity for SGKBK Samajam to provide food to pilgrims who come to this temple in the month of ‘Karthigai’.
A strong team of dedicated devotees are doing great service for the past over three decades, now headed by temple’s Managing Trustee Mr.K.S.Sridhar along with a team of Trustees / Mentors.
“Our SGKBK Samajam will be doing ‘Thadiyarathanai’ for the 30th year this year…from 17th November…and ‘annaprasadam’ is one of our important charity activity in this holy Karthigai month….On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, our Samajam will provide food to devotees as a service to the God….This is a a place where the Seven Sages called as ‘Saptharishis’ visited and it was this sacred place where Lord Narasimha was seen in Yoga posture by the ‘Saptharishis’ and sages after demon Hiranyakashipu (asura) – was killed by the Lord…..,” Managing Trustee Mr.K.S.Sridhar and Joint Managing Trustee Mr.A.G.Soundarajan have said on Thursday on November 7th 2019.
Devotees can contribute directly to the bank account of SGKBK Samajam through voluntary donations and their donations are exempted under the Income Tax Act Section 80G.
