VILLUPURAM: A team of BJP office-bearers from Madurai district have come to Omandur in Villupuram district to pay floral respects and tributes to ‘Omandurar’ on his birth anniversary on 1st February 2019 Friday.
OMANDUR P. RAMASWAMI REDDIAR (1895 – 1970) was the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and he had successfully worked to get reservation for Backward Classes in public services.
K.R.Murali Ramasamy, State vice-president, OBC Morcha, Tamil Nadu BJP, along with Vasuji from Madurai urban unit of the party and Reddiar youth wing from Vadipatti and others, went to the birth place of great leader ‘Omandurar’ – namely Omandur near Tindivanam and offered floral tributes.

From Jaihindpuram in Madurai too, Reddiar community representatives went to Omandur on Feb 1st 2019.
“Omandur Ramaswami Reddiar is remembered always for his sincerity and sacrifice, for honesty and great human values he followed…..He has all Gandhian qualities,,,,,,” said Mr.Murali Ramasamy, who is also the co-convener of OBC’s IT Cell.
