MADURAI: Hundreds of women turned up to seek divine blessings and for well-being by taking part in the 1,008 ‘Thiruvilakku Puja’ at Sri Muthumariamman Temple in Sellur Meenambalpuram in Madurai on August 14th 2018 evening.
This temple event was organised by a special committee with arrangements monitored by Mrs.S.Muthuselvi.
Dr.Rohini Sridhar, Director of Medical Services and Chief Operating Officer of Apollo Speciality Hospitals – Madurai, had lit the first lamp in the temple and commenced the Vilakku Puja.

Following this, the women lighted the divine lamps amidst chanting of divine slogans, hymns and discourse by S.P.Geetha Bharathi of Siddhashramam in Madurai.
District Collector Mr.K.Veera Raghava Rao, BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan, Madurai Urban district president Mr.Saseeraman and many BJP functionaries from Sellur mandal were among those who witnessed the Vilakku Puja.
Also present were P.Sundara Vadivelu, H.Aadiseshan and BJP district secretary Mrs.K.Meenambigai.
